Saturday, February 29 was a fun night in the community centre on Conduit Hill. The Ryesingers dressed up to entertain an enthusiastic audience with a Gilbert & Sullivan operetta, The Pirates of Penzance. On the programme were excerpts of the songs and people were encouraged to join in with the cast.

In the second half there were songs from London-based musicals with quite a few well known ones which helped to get everyone involved.

The conductor Leslie Brownbill invites anyone who would like to join the choir for their summer concert to contact her on 01797 222 637. The music will include Beethoven, Mozart and Haydn.

It was an uplifting evening with several wonderful soloists.
