The highly anticipated exhibition of new work by Louis Turpin, September Song, opens this Saturday 12 September at Rye Art Gallery (RAG).
For his first exhibition at RAG in over two years, Louis Turpin has painted the gardens of Great Dixter throughout the seasons. As a place that has given him so much inspiration, his paintings are a celebration of the colour, shapes and structure of the planting, and of the vision of the gardens designers, Nathaniel and Daisy Lloyd and their son, Christopher Lloyd.
As a much-loved artist, whose work captures the spirit and essence of gardens and local landscapes, the exhibition is guaranteed to be very popular with gallery visitors.
The exhibition runs from 12 September to 11 October with a preview 11am to 2pm on Saturday 12 September (RSVP here).
There will be a curatorial walk and talk on 18 September from 5.00pm to 6.30pm. Book tickets here.
A series of works by Mick Rooney RA will also feature alongside the work by Louis Turpin.
Rye Art Gallery is at 107 High Street, Rye and is open Monday to Saturday from 11am to 5pm, Sunday from 11am to 4pm, closed on Tuesdays.
