Tales from Winchelsea Court Hall return

Due to public demand Tales from the Court Hall will be returning on Saturday evening 31 January 2026

This event ran for two nights in October, and sold out on both evenings, with some unable to attend, hence the return.

All set in the very atmospheric Winchelsea Court Hall, which dates back 700 years, a number of true tales featuring real characters over a 200-year period that have lived in Winchelsea and for various reasons found themselves as “guests” of the Court Hall and prison. The tales are not ghost stories, but take you back in time to hear their sad, unjust, shocking and sometimes amusing tales.

Reservations for tickets are now being taken, limited places, so please book early to avoid disappointment. Ticket price £15.00 per adult (not suitable for children). Ticket price includes a free drink on arrival. Admission is by ticket only.

Doors open 6.45 pm with start at 7.15 pm. It concludes at 9.00pm (includes 20 minute interval).
