Fumiya Koido was born in Kamaishi, Japan in 1995. In 2014, he entered the Toho University of Music and won the Grand Prix in the 1st Kawai International Piano Competition in Tokyo in 2015.
In 2017, Fumiya won the First Prize in the 21st Hamamatsu Piano Competition, First Prize in the Coimbra World Piano Competition, Second Prize in the 4th Victor Merzhanov International Piano Competition and was the winner of the 2019 Hastings Intenational Piano Concerto Competition.
Fumiya visited recently during the Hastings International Piano Festival where he performed with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra during RPO Gala Concert.
