It’s encouraging to be able to report some exciting news about another Rye business and, whilst many businesses are feeling the pinch, for some it’s a different story and expansion is imminent.

Jens Knoop is not only passionate about Rye, but he is also passionate about his first love, chocolate. Let’s face it, who isn’t?

His love affair with the humble cocoa bean started as a child whilst living in Germany and in 2013 he realised his dream, took the plunge and opened his first Knoops chocolate bar  at Tower Forge, Hilders Cliff, in central Rye.

Word soon got out, tongues started wagging and then tasting and now Knoops has quickly established itself as one of ‘the must go to’ coffee shops in Rye. Popular with locals and tourists alike he offers a varied selection of chocolate drinks even the toughest of us would find it hard to resist.

A bowl of chocolate and marshmallows, sheer bliss.

Jens is delighted to be able to share his passion for chocolate and offers expertly crafted chocolate drinks and coffee to drink in, take away or create at home.

As an introduction to Knoopology the first step is to choose your preferred chocolate drink: hot chocolate, milkshake or mocha, then choose a strength to suit your taste, you can then add additional flavours including fruits, herbs and spices and finally pick your milk.

But you may want to add some ‘naughty’ extras. A favourite are marshmallows which always go down well. Then, just sit back, relax and watch the world go by as you slip into a world of delicious self indulgence.

But that’s not all, such is the success of Knoops that more openings are planned and this month sees the launch of the next Knoops outlet, this time in St Johns Hill, Clapham Junction, with more planned in due course.

If you can’t wait until the launch date to indulge yourself with the Knoops experience, drop in and say hello to Jens while visiting Rye. You will be assured of a warm welcome and you can spoil yourself at the same time. His website knoops.co.uk  gives you a flavour of what to expect or you can contact him directly on 01797 225838.

If you are planning a day trip from London, before too long you will be able to enjoy your morning coffee in Clapham Junction and then by lunchtime you will probably be ready for another, and where better to enjoy it than in Rye.
