Pete Dudley lives in Rye Harbour for much of the year and loves the area. His partner Kathy passed away last year and the last hospital to help with her treatment and caring was Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital. This is their centenary year and they are raising funds to purchase a mobile echocardiogram machine for use in their outpatients department. The cost of this essential piece of equipment is £40,000.

Pete had spent the year growing a beard which he coloured like a rainbow. He decided to have his beard shaved off and his long hair cut to raise funds for the hospital. On Saturday, June 12 at the caravan park at Rye Harbour he achieved his goal and raised funds for the echocardiogram. He was ably assisted by Allan and his wife Diane who took turns at shaving the locks and beard.

You can support the hospital by taking part in their raffle, details are on their website.
