The comments we hear year after year are very often related to people’s veggies and fruit being ready way too early or far too late to compete in the annual Rye Flower and Veg Show. This year there will be no excuses as one of our new photography classes caters for just that problem. Now you can simply take a snap of your perfect produce and enter it in the “could have been a contender” photography class. That’s not the only new class either. There are several in the photographic, handicrafts and cookery sections including all the old favourites too.
The vegetable and fruit classes include all the usuals with some lovely new opportunities in the flowers and foliage sections to let your imagination run riot.

The booklet schedules are already out in town and you can pick one up at Bargain Box, Adams, the Library and many other venues. If you prefer, the full schedule is also online at www.ryeflowerandvegshow.co.uk along with an interactive form so that you can pop your entries over to us even more easily.
We are keen to have as many entries as possible and from our personal experience the weather this year seems to have given us some great growing conditions.

The rules are the same as usual – entry forms must be submitted by 5pm on Friday, August 29 and the Community Centre will be open the next morning to bring your items in from 8:30am – 11:30am. The show will be open for public viewing and afternoon tea and cake, courtesy of Landgate WI, from 2pm.
We are really looking forward to welcoming entries from across the community – we’ve had many occasions when people have nervously entered for the first time and been pleasantly surprised at winning a prize.
We are a friendly and relaxed event and happy to help you with any questions regarding the classes. Our contact details are on the website and in the schedule.
See you and your vegetables very soon.
