Rye Flower & Veg show were delighted to receive an unexpected boost following a generous donation from former mayor of Rye, Andi Rivett, ahead of this year’s event on 22 August.
“Andi has always been very supportive of our show,” said Lorna Hall, co-organiser. “We were astounded and very grateful to receive this surprise donation from him. He is a great fan of the show and always comments on what an excellent community event it is.”
“We manage to balance the books each year and ensure the show pays for itself,” confirmed Helena Hudd, co-organiser. “That is because so many local businesses are kind enough to sponsor the prizes and advertise in our schedule. An extra donation, such as this will enable us to keep the event going year-on-year.”
