Members of Rye and Winchelsea Rotary Club were invited to attend a special assembly at Peasmarsh Primary School on April 27 in order to present a new football strip to the school team.
The strip was officially presented to the Head teacher, Lison Smart, by Rotary members Bernard Ries, whose grandson attends the school, with Venetia Sanders and Donald Cameron Clarke. The purchase of the strip was financed by money raised by Rotary at its fun- raising events throughout the year.
This is one of a number of areas where Rotary has provided support for local schools at a time when school budgets are under pressure.
Rotary member Roger Evans, a Peasmarsh resident, also took the opportunity to tell parents, pupils and staff about Rotary’s fund raising activities, the latest of which is the Annual Sponsored Walk, the route which passes through Peasmarsh on Sunday May 20.
