Canons David Frost (Rector of Rye), Hugh Moseley (former Rector, now at Icklesham) and Richard Orchard (retired) blasted off (in journalism, canons always blast) with their cycling muscles last Saturday, to raise money for the Sussex Historic Churches Trust and their own local church, writes Canon Richard Orchard (pictured above). “Ride and Stride” is part of a national event on the second Saturday of September each year. David clocked up eleven churches on Romney Marsh, Hugh and his wife Annabelle twelve and Richard nine in the Rye area, as far as Ewhurst. They hope to have raised some £700.
