On Friday 8 May Rye College came together to mark the incredible 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough with a wonderful wildlife‑themed bake sale. It was led by Mrs Willett – a huge thank you to the staff and students who donated so generously. We’re delighted to have raised £151 for the World Wildlife Fund.

A special well done to Tasmin, who won the Star Bake prize, and to brilliant runners‑up Holly, Taylor, Elsie and Ivy – all exceptional bakes. We loved the creativity on display!

Thank you also to Mr Outten and the Science Club who created a beautiful poster welcoming everyone into school and setting the tone for the day.

Throughout mentor time, students have been making their own pledges for small changes they promise to make to help protect our planet – a fitting way to honour Sir David’s lifelong commitment to the natural world.

It was a fantastic day of community, creativity and care for our planet.
