Our Tilling Green flagship event is keeping organisers busy as the date approaches. Our banners and posters are appearing around town and our mobile billboard is cruising the neighbourhood. The annual Green Waves Community Festival promises to be even bigger and better in its second year. The two days of fun-filled family-focused activities are scheduled for 15 and 16 August and everyone is invited.
Saturday is village fete day and features an abundance of community organisation stalls plus family games and two bouncy castles with line dancing, martial arts and twirlers in the arena, followed by a dog show and then four really hot dance bands playing music into the night.
For Sunday, we’ve booked a renowned petting zoo, pony rides, the Bee Tidings theatrical troupe for kids of all ages, and musical entertainment from Rye’s own Ukulele Experiment. In the evening we’ll host the 2026 Rye Youth Showcase where local young musicians, dancers, twirlers, singers and circus artists will display their talents. Please come and support them.
All events are free for Tilling Green Estate residents and children, and just £2 for others. We have a variety of food vendors, a tea room, a bar and barbecue so people can spend a relaxing day having fun and getting to know their neighbours.
