The crew of Rye Pirates and Smugglers will be in town this Saturday 4 July promoting their second event, which takes place on 8 August. They’ll be explaining more about what’s happening and how they want to build on a successful first year in 2025. You will be able to find out more at the River Haven Hotel at 5pm.

Last year hundreds dressed as pirates for a procession around town and a smuggler’s market on The Strand.

A spokesperson for Rye Pirates and Smugglers Day said, “With shenanigans and skullduggery expected – ye be warned! You are also invited to come along and meet the crew to find out how you can get involved to support this incredible free event for the entire community. You can find out more about our plans and see the (hopefully!) complete schedule!”

Last week’s meeting of Rye Town Council heard how plans were well advanced for this year with an increasing focus on making the day as child friendly as possible.

If you would like to be a sponsor get in touch with the crew – every penny raised goes towards the day.
