Braydon Robus (17) from Rye and his kata partner Isabelle Everest (18) have made history again at the European Judo Union defending their European title in Adapted Nage-no-Kata, in Riga, Latvia. This was the second time the EJU kata championships has had adaptive kata categories.

Last year, the pair secured a Gold medal and this year in defence of their title they have again achieved Gold. They are now two times European Champions, and the only GB pairing ever to get a medal at these championships.

This is an incredible achievement for these youngsters who are dedicated and train so hard and to watch them you can see how they are totally in tune with each other and have complete trust.

Janice Robus, Braydon’s mother said: “Thank you to everyone, including Rye Old Scholars’ Association, Hastings Direct (which sponsored their International kata Judo gis for these competitions) and British Judo that has supported their journey over the last two years. Their journey shows that disability is no bar to achieving at high standards.”
