Amelia (Milly) Voice, whose family lives in Pett Level, is competing in an international 100km ultra trail endurance race in Switzerland in August, the prestigious SwissAlps100, in order to raise funds for the charity Macmillan Cancer Support and specifically, the Macmillan Horizon Centre in Brighton.

Milly Voice

Macmillan is giving wonderful support to her mother, Pamela Voice, who is currently undergoing treatment for an aggressive breast cancer, as indeed it is to the whole family.

Milly is by profession a teacher; she is also an experienced trail runner both in the UK and in Europe, achieving success in several races, including being in the top ten women and 1st British woman in the UTMB OCC race in Chamonix, and just recently, 1st woman in an international race in Lausanne, Switzerland.

She is an ambassador for the sports brand Salomon and has been featured on billboards and in its stores both in the UK and in Europe.

More details, including a personal piece by Milly on why she is doing this, can be found on Milly’s Just Giving page. The link can be also found on Facebook/Instagram @millyvoiceruns

  1. I have just listened to Radio Sussex ( Wednesday 27th July ) , 10am programme, to hear Milly being interviewed..it was with in the first 15 minutes .so if you missed it and can get it on repeat..won’t have to listen to hours of the programme.
It was an excellent interview her compassion and respect for the Macmillan Horizon Centre , where her mother and father are being supported whilst her mother is having arduous treatment shone through. Her up beat , positive and dedication for this gruelling challenge she has set her self to run the swissalps100 is inspiring .
Hope she achieves the run. That the money she raises for the charity..will be used for the benefit of many people and families in the coming years…
So if you haven’t yet thought of supporting this charity ,Sussex based, please do…

  2. Milly is running her race this Saturday 13th August and using it for the opportunity for the charity fundraising .
So not too late to donate to this Sussex based charity (at Brighton Hospital ) and one that unfortunately people of Rye and surrounds may have to use…but Thank God it is there to help when people need it..with funds raised it will.

  3. Congratulations Milly on finishing the run. Great achievement. Plus raising over £11,000 so far for the Brighton centre run by Macmillan. Can’t imagine how any one runs for so many hours over 100k. route.
