What are you doing next Wednesday 4 March from 6.30pm?
Many people in Rye will be at the annual town meeting at the Community Centre on Conduit Hill.
You should be there too if you care about our town.
It’s been organised by Rye Town Council, which is increasingly taking on more responsibility for life here because of local government re-organisation. Our council tax is rising to reflect that.
During the evening there’s a chance to meet our local councillors, not just from Rye. An opportunity to discuss the local issues that really matter to you. Plus you’ll be able to chat to people from some of the important services in our town: our brilliant town stewards, representatives from Rye Leisure Centre, Rye Heritage Centre and the Rye Allotment Society.
Mayor Andy Stuart will give an update on the year, which will be followed by time to ask questions to Rye Town Council.
An opportunity to find out more about life in Rye and have your say. What’s not to like?
So put it in your diary. From 6.30pm at the Community Centre in the town centre.
The weather forecast is decent. There’s nothing exciting on TV. You can cope with missing out on another episode of Masterchef: The Professionals. You can always record River Monsters on ITV4 which on Wednesday evening is all about deadly fish on the Okavango in Botswana. Feeds on fish and even human bodies. Apparently.
Seriously though, do come. Take part. Far more useful and enjoyable than just moaning about life in Rye online.
See you there.
Rye News will have a report on the evening in next week’s paper.
