Rye News needs your help. Simply put, we need more volunteers urgently. Susan Benn is a long-time donor to the paper and one of the directors of the charity that oversees it. She explains why the paper is important to her.
When I moved to Rye in 2018 I was, and still am, especially grateful for the generous civic-minded voluntary effort from members of our community who report news, create features, express heartfelt opinions, take stunning photographs and do accurate fact-checking for Rye News.
In a town of approximately 4,500 people our pioneering on-line local newspaper is attracting a remarkable weekly readership of 6,000 people (!!) both here and overseas.
But to survive, as a weekly newspaper, Rye News needs a bigger team of keen reporters, of all ages, to work closely together with our dedicated editorial production team. If Rye News doesn’t report what’s going on in Rye and the surrounding villages, who will?
Please do think hard as you read this about WHY you care about your local newspaper and SUPPORT Rye News!
