Children celebrate in radiant royal style

On Friday, May 5, Rye Community Primary School came together to host a whole school Coronation event to mark this very special moment in history.

Organised by the Rye Primary Families and Friends PTA and ably assisted by the Children’s Leadership Team, the afternoon of celebrations included a picnic lunch; a class parade, where children proudly showed off their red, white and blue outfits and danced to the party tunes; crafting activities included crown decorating; lots of royal races and games; and dressing up and face painting. Pupils and staff spent a wonderful afternoon making the most of the festivities and the sunshine!

They marked the end of the school day with a rapturous, all-school rendition of ‘God Save The King’ to the delight and pride of families who were in the playground.

Rye Community Primary School is so very grateful for the support of its very committed PTA who help to run these ‘extras’ which make an enormous difference to their children’s educational experience. They are always looking for new members to get involved, please contact the school office on 01797 222545 if you would like to find out more or attend the next meeting.
