To celebrate the launch of the Rye Society of Artists’ (RSA) new website, Rye News continues to profile one of its artists each week – including links to its website and social media accounts so you can keep up-to-date on their activities.
You can view some of the RSA member’s work at the spring exhibition, entitled “There will be Growth in Spring”, at Rye Art Gallery from April 12 2021. In addition, the RSA will be hosting its 70th Anniversary Summer Show later in 2021.
This week, the artist in focus is Matt Hardman
“I use my experiences to make images that have an emotional tension. The paintings are not literal but the work tries to convey an atmosphere of fate, passive anxiety, humour, frustration and possibilities.”
