Last Thursday, April 14 the doors at the Brewery Yard Club opened at 6:30pm for what proved to be a night to remember. Why? It was a fundraising Show Tunes Karaoke night in support of the Disasters and Emergencies Committee’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, with music and singing, as well as an auction and raffle with amazing prizes donated by local businesses.
Host, Jane Brook and her dedicated team including Kim Richards, Elise and Max Garner and Nezar Boufrahi were joined by the incomparable and equally glamorous Timberlina who compered the evening accompanied by Jake Willoughby on the piano.
First up were the SING-IT-OUT choir who kicked off the proceedings with a concert before passing on the mike to eager karaoke aficionados throwing caution to the wind, keen to “do their bit” and help raise as much money as possible during the course of the evening.
The Show Tunes Karaoke turned out to be an incredible success. Not only was the amazing total of £2,051 raised but this memorable evening also proved to be an incredible community event which pulled so many people together in support of such an important and worthwhile cause.
Special thanks go out to all who helped make it such a success by giving their time and support, without whom it wouldn’t have happened, especially the generous patrons and friends, all those who attended or sang, and for those who donated and bid for the fantastic prizes.
