This year’s Rockabilly Rave is the 19th and runs from June 11 to 15. There will be live music, dancing sessions, an indoor flea market and lots of stalls selling all things relating to the 1950’s especially records and clothes. On Saturday June 12 the “Summertime Cruise” will set off at noon with a convoy of hotrods, classic cars and custom cars heading to Dungeness before stopping at the Jolly Fisherman pub in Greatstone.

More than 50 acts will be performing including Stormin Eddie, who kicks off events at the main ballroom on Thursday evening, the Polecats, Jimmy Guntrip and Little Carl who all hail from the UK. And the list of singers and bands from overseas includes Blip Blop from Germany, the Kabboms from Spain, Go from Japan, the Go Getters from Sweden, the Bellfuries from the USA, Australia’s Holly Doll and the Hillbilly Boogiemen from the Netherlands.

Although this is a closed event with no day visitors allowed on the park, lots of those attending will be visiting Rye over the course of the weekend looking very impressive in their 1950s duds and motors. For more information visit the Rockabilly Rave website.
