Friday December 18 2020 is a date for your diaries, as Rye International Jazz & Blues Festival is delighted to be presenting a special Christmas concert in the unique setting of St Mary in the Castle, Hastings, with Ian Shaw and Liane Carroll, two of the most acclaimed, multi-award-winning British jazz singers and songwriters.

Ian and Liane have performed in Rye before for the Jazz & Blues Festival and are firm favourites, two stunning voices, two magnificent singer-pianists and two great friends whose rapport makes every performance special. They bring personality, musical class and incorrigible wit to a repertoire that covers the jazz songbook and contemporary songs as well as their own originals.

They have both performed to sell out audiences across the UK and abroad as well as appearing regularly at Ronnie Scott’s famous jazz club in London but you now have the chance to see them live at a very special iconic venue, thanks to their two sponsors, Arthur C Towner Funeral Directors and Gaby Hardwicke Solicitors.

Measures have been introduced to help everyone remain safe whilst attending the concert including reducing the capacity of the venue so that you can maintain a 2m distance from concert goers from other households.

Tickets

Tickets are available at £30 per person. Everyone attending an event must have bought an online ticket in advance and be able to present this on a mobile device or have a printed copy with them. There will be no tickets available to buy on the door. While these measures are in place, tickets are limited to a maximum of six per buyer.

Audience members, concert staff and stewards will need to wear a face-covering inside the venue and during the performance, unless exempt from doing so by government guidelines. You are required to bring your own mask or face-covering with you.

This concert is sure to attract early interest and tickets are expected to sell well. Doors open at 7pm for an 8pm start. If you want an evening  of top class entertainment and the chance to shake off those Covid blues, email  kate@ryejazz.com.
