Unsurprisingly, the May series of concerts due to take place this month at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill and at St Mary’s Church in Rye have been cancelled. They included performances by Jose Feliciano, Booker T Jones, 6 Hands with John Williams, John Etheridge and Gary Ryan, PP Arnold, Graham Gouldman & Heart Full of Songs and Ronnie Scott’s All Stars.

Ian Bowden, festival director is working closely with these artists and their management to try and reschedule and Rye News will publish further updates in due course.

The sensational British singer songwriter, Rumer, re scheduled for March 2021.

Anyone who has tickets can contact either kate@ryejazz.com or vicki@ryejazz.com for refunds, transfers or further information.

The singer Rumer was also due to appear this month but thankfully she has been rescheduled for Friday 12 March 2021 at the De La Warr Pavillion and tickets are currently available. She sang to a packed audience last year in St Mary’s Church, a wonderful concert which will be remembered by all those lucky enough to secure tickets.

Gabrielle is due to perform in August if the festival goes ahead.

At the moment, the August festival is still due to go ahead over the bank holiday weekend of  August 28-30, artists booked to appear include Gabrielle, Incognito and China Moses.

The Rye Jazz & Blues Festival is a hugely popular event and very important to the town and local tourist economy, should there be any changes to planned events we will keep you informed as the situation develops.
