As previewed in Rye News last week, this Friday, September 4, our Kino in Rye’s Lion Street by the town hall is re-opening. So at midday on Friday why not come along and enjoy coffee and cake, a glass of wine perhaps with a light lunch, or an indulgent cream tea on the outside terrace (weather permitting) or in the café bar with table service provided by the friendly Kino team.

Refreshments available, inside and out as well as plenty of entertainment in store.

In the meantime checkout the website for details of all the treats in store, with something for everyone and what many of you have been waiting for.

A great deal of effort has gone in behind the scenes to make your visit to Kino one to remember, a visit where you will feel safe and looked after, and an experience you will feel comfortable repeating. Outlining all the changes, a statement from Matt Breckon, MD Kino Digital, reads as follows:

“We have taken advantage of this long intermission to improve our service. In particular, we have planned a new-style welcome and assistance on hand at all times during your visit. We have obviously taken all the necessary steps to reassure you and safeguard your health, including fresh air conditioning and increased cleaning, not only of your hands!

“We have also taken care to maintain the comfort and conviviality of our venues whilst improving our range of food and beverages for when you sit down and relax. We cannot guarantee that the sun will always shine on our terraces, but we will try! Our cinema experience remains as thrilling as ever and will only improve as the weeks go by, with some innovations coming along the way.

“Our new seating system will allow for the distancing imposed by the Government but you will, of course, be permitted to sit next to your loved ones. Please note that we are not in the business of bursting anyone’s bubble! Everybody is welcome!

“Our re-opening programme includes Tenet, Summerland, Unhinged, Love Sarah, Pinocchio and Babyteeth, plus special events such as the spectacular Aida On The Lake, NT Live: Present Laughter and Elvis: That’s The Way It Is. Online booking re-opened last week – and we are overjoyed at the prospect of welcoming you very soon.”
