Supporters of Kino Rye marked the tenth anniversary of the cinema on Wednesday January 29.
As well as hearing from co-founder, Hugh Kermode and Rye mayor, Andy Stuart, guests also watched a film showing how the building changed from Victorian school buildings to the modern picture house of today.

Hats off to all those who had the vision and courage to make the KINO happen in our town!
We are SO fortunate to be able to see world class cinema here!
Similar long term visionaries, with courage, commitment and financial backing, are needed to ensure there are dedicated affordable spaces for cultural production required by talented artists living and working across the visual and performing arts in this area….(now that the original vision for Bridgepoint artists studios and world class theatre and performing space is to be replaced with housing plans proposed by Martello developers).
