Museum open again – sometimes

Last week, in half term week, Rye Castle museum opened experimentally for two days to see how it would go – it went very well indeed.

With the current regulations in place, it’s necessary to have two stewards on at the same time. This means that there aren’t enough staff to open every day, so they are currently opening a few days at a time.

The response from the public has been wonderful. Visitors are cheerful and cooperative and happy to be out and about. Let’s hope they can return to normal hours soon.
