To celebrate the launch of the Rye Society of Artists’ (RSA) new website, Rye News continues to profile one of their artists each week – including links to their website and social media accounts so you can keep up-to-date on their activities.

You can also view some of the RSA member’s work at their 70th Anniversary Summer Show later in 2021, date to be confirmed.

This week, the artist in focus is Carole Sheldrake

Following a foundation degree in contemporary crafts practice in 2007 in Hastings, Carole graduated from the University of Brighton in 2014 with an MA in Arts and Design.

Carole makes figurative, mixed-media ceramics. Her work is illustrative with the narrative inspiring the viewer’s wider imaginings. Through her work she aspires to balance technical skill with a sensitive personal expression. Travel is a recurring theme and she exhibits in the south of England.

You can see more of Carole’s work on her Instagram carolesheldrake and the RSA website.
