The pagers went off last Saturday, March 14, at 10.59am at RNLI Rye Harbour in response to a request to help a dog in distress in the River Rother.

With Matt Ellis at the helm, and Sharon Gozna, Tim Brown and Tony Peters as crew, the station’s Atlantic 85 was soon on the scene.

Autumn, the dog, was speedily rescued and was reunited with her grateful owner Amy – another success story for the station.

And Amy did the right thing in requesting help and remaining safe and dry on the shore whilst the experts carried out the rescue.
