After all the festivities, Strandliners are back to invite people interested in the environment to join their events to make beaches, water and rivers a better, cleaner place. 2025 has a packed calendar with member walks, clean ups and an open community event, Love our Rother to be held on February 15.

Love our Rother will be held at the Tilling Green Community Centre. They would love to have some volunteers to help on the stall. Anyone interested can email Strandliners and say what time and how much time they can give on the day.

It is a popular free event and shows inclusiveness within the environmentally-minded organisations across Sussex. This time the subject is water which has been a problem in the past years. The day will be varied and volunteers will be asked what they are interested in and be signposted to wherever they are needed. The community river watch projects have now ended but will hopefully continue in Rother and Eastbourne.

Get involved in Young Strandliners

For the young, January 18 is the start day when Strandliners will be planning what they would like to do over the next year. There is a river watch for the young Strandliners and any young person interested in saving the planet, do sign up on their email.

Strandliners wants to thank everyone who has taken part in all their endeavours. Much has been achieved in the past and the hope is that these achievements will continue.

Strandliners membership runs from January 1 – 31 of each year and subs are due now for 2025. Benefits include a quarterly magazine The Fulmer, monthly raffle prizes, a sea bean and the opportunity to join beach, marine and citizen science workshops, as well as the chance to meet new people who share your interest.
