Auction house move

The Rye Auction Galleries has moved premises to the more central location of 2-3 Rock Channel Quay.

The first auction in its new home will take place on Friday March 15, 2019. The auction will start at 9:30am but you can view the objects an hour earlier from 8:30am (or the day before, Thursday March 14). If you can’t make it to an early viewing, the auction house lists what’s for sale in its catalogue on its website a few days before. You can also bid for an item online at

The Rye Auction Galleries covers a large area that includes Rye, Hastings, St Leonards, Battle, Eastbourne, Brighton as well as most of Kent. This will explain why there is such a eclectic number of objects up for auction. The catalogue runs into 22 pages and items on offer this month range from Wedgwood and Royal Doulton porcelain to a mixed selection of watercolours and prints and household furniture.
