Start your festive celebrations with late night shopping in our beautiful town on Saturday, November 18.
The evening will kick off with the Marsh Choir singing outside the George at 4:45pm prior to the Christmas tree light switch on with a special guest at 5pm.
Exciting news: over 65 of Rye’s fabulous independent businesses will be open late until 8pm with lots of special treats in store to help you SHOP SMALL this Christmas as well as delicious festive food and drink around the town!
Live music is on offer including our very own local DJ on top of the Old Borough Arms (the Mermaid Street Cafe).
With free parking from 4pm in council run car parks, it is the perfect time to do a bit of Christmas shopping and kick off your festive celebrations.

This is the first of two events as part of Christmas in Rye this year. The second event will be the family festive day on Saturday, December 2.
The team which has been masterminding this extravaganza is Fran and Vickie from Simply Rye, Mikey from Hunter Jones, Michael from Merchant and Mills, Jo from Ethel Loves Me and Martin from Sailors and they have worked extremely hard so come and show your support.
