Jempson’s Peasmarsh superstore has played host to a number of Bank Holiday charity boot fairs, with this year’s once again proving very popular, which in turn helped to raise a significant amount of money for local good causes.

This year’s car boot sales attracted hundreds of sellers and enthusiastic bargain hunters, with over £1,700 being raised.

All the money from the sales of pitches and collections on the day were donated to the Rye Bonfire Society, District Community Transport, Rye Day Centre and Rother Responders.

Stephen Jempson said “Our annual Boot Fairs are a well-established event in the Jempson’s calendar. We take great pleasure in offering our services for the benefit of local good causes and the community overall, these events are well organised and we hope that they will be even bigger and better when they return. Thank you to everyone who attended. We look forward to welcoming even more traders and bargain hunters to next year’s Bank Holiday events”.
