The Country Market re-opened promptly at 10am last Friday after the winter recess. The hall at the community centre on Conduit Hill made a colourful spectacle and all the usual stalls of produce and handicrafts were there, with a few new lines from the Morghew Potato Shop near Tenterden.

Who’ll buy these lovely flowers?

I bought a bunch of daffodils from the flower ladies, a loaf of home baked bread from Len Platt, fresh eggs and vegetables from Trish Ashton-Cobb and one of John Holbrook’s delicious chicken curries.

What’s not to like, as the young people say. So roll up, roll up, come and buy!
