Country Show attracts thousands

We were delighted that this year’s Rye Show was such a success and enjoyed by over 2,000 local people. As well as our usual dog and horse events we had a wonderful classic car display with over 100 cars taking part.

The East Sussex and Romney Marsh fox hounds paraded much to the delight of the crowds. We also welcomed a gun dog display and a stunning chainsaw demonstration took place while live music was performed by The Kytes and Jiggery Pokery. The annual dog Grand National caused the usual amount of hilarity for participants and the audience, and the local gymnastics group Acromax were very popular and showed the incredible skills of local children.

Additionally, we were thrilled to welcome a corps of drums marching display and the icing on the cake was a brilliant parachute display from the Tigers. I would like to thank Phil Merricks and Kit McLean for allowing us to use their land at Elm Tree Farm, Icklesham, and lastly, we would like to say thank you to everyone who came along on the day to support St Michael’s Hospice.
