It was children’s story time at Rye Bookshop on most afternoons last week and young audiences gathered with their parents to listen and join in the activities on offer.

Readings included Amelia Fang and the Barbaric Ball, and Funny Bones; and then there were Bonkers about Beetroot  and Peppa Pig’s Pumpkin.

On Friday, it was the turn of Sussex author Nickhola-Susanne La Brooy to read her new book The Wonder Tails which was written with the support of Sussex Wildlife Trust, according to Emma McGrath, senior bookseller at the Rye Bookshop.

And on Saturday, it was Emma herself (shown above) reading Ten Little Monsters that held her audience captive.

Rye Bookshop is holding further literary events:

November 2   1-4pm book signing by Claire Baldry of her book “Different Genes”
