The Rye Neighbourhood Plan has been in force since 2019. For five years it has been a key statutory document enabling Rye Town Council to influence strategic planning decisions.

The Neighbourhood Plan Act dictates that the plan has to be reviewed. Since mid 2023, Rye Town Council has been working on a review in the context of change to national planning policy and a revision of the Rother Local Plan. The Rye plan has to conform to all higher policy at national and district level.

Regulation 14 of the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations Act requires a six week public consultation for representations by the public, other interested parties and statutory consultees.

The consultation will start on Tuesday October 15 and end on Tuesday November 26 2024 at 4:30pm.

Rye Town Council welcomes representations from the public, other interested parties and statutory consultees, on the reviewed plan.
