Jempson’s Peasmarsh superstore played host to a number of bank holiday charity boot fairs this year, once again, proving very popular which in turn helped to raise money for local good causes.

This year’s car sales attracted hundreds of sellers and enthusiastic bargain hunters, with over £1,300 being raised for charities.

The money from the sales of pitches and collections on the day were donated to Rye & District Community Transport, Rye Day Centre and the Rother Responders.

The first boot fair of the year for Rye’s Bonfire Society was unfortunately postponed due to Storm Katie.

Stephen Jempson said “Our annual boot fairs are a well-established event in the Jempson’s calendar. We take great pleasure in offering our services for the benefit of local good causes and the community overall, these events are well organised and we hope that they will be even bigger and better when they return. We look forward to welcoming even more traders and bargain hunters to next year’s bank holiday events”.
