Madison’s reopens for business

When I dropped into Madison’s at 96 High Street last Saturday morning, August 31, I was surprised by the activity inside. I went there to write an article about the shop reopening after the recent fire at the nearby George Hotel and witnessed customers already arriving for the grand opening.

The shop looked really inviting, the entrance framed with a wonderful balloon display which certainly caught the attention of passers by.

Inside was a hive of industry, the team of ladies were in full flow greeting customers and proudly showing off the new stock, the atmosphere was one of calm after having survived such a traumatic time recently.

Madison’s first opened in April of this year when owners Max Hutton and  Siobhan Kepplar realised their dream of opening a woman’s fashion store on Rye High Street. However their dreams were soon shattered after the recent fire at the George forced them to close as a consequence of the water and smoke damage which affected their stock.

Siobhan was delighted to be open once again having missed a very busy bank holiday trading opportunity and she is now assisted by Fiona and Jane who between them were greeting customers eager to see the new range of clothing on display.

I have no doubt that with the friendly attitude of the team I met and the range of stock available, it wont be too long before Madison’s becomes firmly established.

Local support and understanding from staff and well wishers has been overwhelming and very much appreciated by Siobhan and Max who are delighted to be able to open their doors once again.

Why not take five minutes, pop in and say hello? You will be met by a friendly and enthusiastic team offering a vibrant display of quality clothing, the new autumn collection, bursting with seasonal colour.
