Rye Castle Museum will be holding its annual fundraising fair at the East Street site on Saturday June 24 10:30am-3pm. There will be various stalls and refreshments and, with the hope that the good weather continues, tables will be in the outdoor entrance area as well as garden seating for refreshments.

Teas, coffees and cold drinks will be served along with cakes and savouries. Lots of fundraising stalls include a tombola, plants and preserves, scarves and jewellery, a green stall, as well as books and a children’s craft area.

Do come along and support your museum. Funds raised will support the upkeep of the museum which is independent and receives no council funding.

There is of course free entry to the East Street Museum which is open and run by volunteers at weekends throughout the summer. Ypres Castle Museum at the top of the hill just beyond St Mary’s Church is open every day and plans are afoot to expand the exhibitions so look out for further fundraising later in the year.
