The 2023 bowls season is now well under way and Rye Bowls Club is doing well. After its first six matches (one of which was won by default) things are looking good, with several new members having played their first matches and contributed to this early success.

If you are interested in trying out the game there are ‘roll-ups’ held on the club green at ‘The Salts’ each Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, starting at 10:30am (unless there is a match on that day). Just turn up and introduce yourselves. We will provide bowls and someone to show you the ropes (just wear flat shoes, please). Alternatively, phone the club captain on 01797 280457 for more information.

Rye Bowls Club’s results to date are as follows:

7 May – Rye 65 shots / Northiam 38 shots (Rye 10 points / Northiam 0 points)

10 May- St Leonards unable to put up a team (Rye 10 points / St Leonards 0 points)

14 May-Rye 88 shots / Biddenden 59 shots (Rye 8 points / Biddenden 2 points)

20 May-Rye 83 shots / Staplecross 59 shots (Rye 8 points / Staplecross 2 points)

24 May – Rye 76 shots / Hamstreet 69 shots ( Rye 6 points / Hamstreet 4 points)
