Icklesham Casuals Football Club is holding a Golf Day on Thursday, May 18 at the Weald of Kent Golf Course at Headcorn. This is to publicise the 80 Hole Charity Golf Challenge taking place in June which is raising much needed funds for the Alzheimer’s Society and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

This will be a team competition and is open to teams of four. The cost is £38 per player which includes a tea or coffee and bacon roll prior to the start, 18 holes of golf and a two course meal at the end of the competition with prizes for the leading teams as well as individual awards. There will also be a “Beat the Pro” competition. Players should arrive by 9:30am, with tee-off times starting an hour later.

There are still a few places available if any keen golfers out there would like to enter a team or if you are interested in taking part as a member of an Icklesham Casuals team. Please email the club at ickleshamcasualsfc@hotmail.com.

The club would like to thank all the local businesses who have already supported the challenge. These include Bartletts SEAT, Booker and Best Ltd, Collins Honda, Stamco Building Supplies and SJ Homewood Limited. Thank you also to all the individuals who have donated.

A target of raising £5,000 has been set which will be divided between the two charities with the amount raised to date standing at £1195 (£1273.65 including gift aid). The club is still looking for hole sponsors so if you are a local business or individual and would like to back the challenge and help achieve the target please get in touch with the club at ickleshamcasualsfc@hotmail.com.

Donations can also be made through our Virgin Money Giving page.
