Although missing a number of players, Icklesham Casuals put in a very disappointing performance last Saturday in losing 4-0 away to Parkfield.
Icklesham struggled to get going and went in at the break a goal down. They then lost Sean Baker to injury early in the second period and soon found themselves further behind after failing to clear a corner.
The Casuals still had opportunities to get back into the match but a combination of the opposition goalkeeper, poor control and the ball not running for them, left them failing to take their chances. Further poor defending allowed Parkfield to add two more goals in the last few minutes.
Parkfield were the better team and thoroughly deserved their win – working harder, being calmer on the ball, and showing how to put the ball in the net.
The Casuals will put a bad day at the office behind them and hope for a much improved display this week away to Sedlescombe Rangers Development. The match at Bexhill Road kicks-off at 1:30pm.
