Rye Cricket Club enjoyed three fun days in their cricket week sponsored by Bournes Moves, for which the club is very grateful. A range of ages and talents were involved in games against Clive Vale, the Missing Bail and the MCC.

A young team beat Clive Vale by 67 runs with Oscar Wincott-Stone 68 and Tom O’Neill 34 sharing a 100 run partnership, and then the junior players Henry Blackman 2-43, Henry Cooke 2-2 making an impact with the ball.

On Monday, the Missing Bail won by 3 wickets, as Rye posted 126 and the Dutch Touring team squeezed past the target set.

On Tuesday, the MCC made their bi-annual visit to Rye in an all day match starting at 11:30am. It was a fun day as 60 guests were entertained for lunch and tea. President Phil Merricks hosted sponsors and grants bodies who do so much to ensure cricket continues to be played in Rye. The MCC won on the day, but the real win is that the funds raised on the day will be used to maintain the Rye Cricket Salts, as Rother no longer fund the maintenance of the Salts as a cricket pitch.
