At the mini roundabout by the entrance to Jempson’s at Peasmarsh you can’t miss the banner (see the photo above), as back by popular demand are the Rye 10 and 5-mile races which are organised by Nice Work race management in conjunction with the Peasmarsh Memorial Hall Committee, to help raise funds for the village hall.

This challenging 10-mile race on May 29 starts and finishes at Jempson’s supermarket and follows the scenic country lanes around Peasmarsh and Rye. The race goes out for around 3.5 miles before coming back round in a 3-mile loop that brings you back to the same point to return the final 3.5 miles to the finish. The course has a few challenging hills and is undulating but is an accurately measured road race.

Nice Work is a long established family business, which started in 1989 and has grown to become one of the country’s leading race management companies whose race portfolio now features in excess of 240 races nationwide. Their philosophy is quite simple – to put on friendly races that are fully inclusive, aimed at runners of all abilities, from beginners to experienced athletes and aimed at all ages and backgrounds.

If you need more information and you’re looking to take part in a well organised, friendly, but professional race then take a look at www.nice-work.org.uk, where you will find all the details of how to take part in this, the eleventh 10 and 5-mile race, part of the Sussex Grand Prix race calendar. Early entry is advised if you wish to partake, before entries sell out, and if the 10-mile doesn’t quite suit, then why not try the 5-mile race option?

There’s plenty of free on-site parking near the race start at Jempson’s and there will be a bespoke medal, plus prizes and trophies for male and female winners in various categories. This is the perfect event for those itching to get back to live racing – the entry limit is set at 500 participants so book early.
