Juniors prepare for new season

Last Sunday Rye Cricket Club held a meeting for the parents / carers of the juniors. The meeting shared the plans for the forthcoming junior season.

The key dates are:

Thursday, March 2: hardball nets at Rye Sports Centre 6pm – 8pm

Tuesday, March 7: softball starter course – mixed 6pm-7pm, girls only 7pm-8pm. Supported by Sussex Cricket Foundation coaches

Cost is £40 for eight weeks / new juniors two free weeks – then £30

Wednesday, April 26: outdoor coaching starts 6pm – 8pm at Rye Salts for all juniors – £70 for sub for all season – matches and coaching. New participants get a club shirt.

Friday, May 12: All Stars at 6pm and Dynamos at 7pm – softball cricket sessions.

Two under 11 teams on Monday nights

Under 13s Thursday nights

Under 15s Tuesday nights

We are establishing a girls only section with the intention to have girls fixtures. These sessions start on Tuesday, March 7 and will be led by Sussex Cricket Foundation coaches. The girls section will be receiving funding from the Police Property Fund and will be sponsored by The Mermaid.

August 3 and 4 cricket camp for the junior section

August 4 presentation evening for the juniors with a barbecue.

The programme has been fortunate enough to receive a grant of £1,500 from the Rye Fund which will support the programme, and Rush, Witt & Wilson have confirmed their shirt sponsorship for another year for which the club would like to extend a very grateful thanks.
