Another two games in four days saw Town pick up only one point from a possible six as they try to achieve their target of securing third position in the East Sussex Premier League.
On April 25 Rye Town travelled to St Leonards Social.  The hosts took the lead on the half hour and held the lead until the interval.
Virtually straight from the second half kick off Sam Richardson pulled the teams level.  In the 56th minute St Leonards once again got their noses in front, only to be pegged back again in the 63rd minute as Kenny Butchers levelled for Town.
The game looked as if it was going to end all square when St Leonards found a winner in the 86th minute, giving the home side a 3-2 win.   Sam Richardson was Town’s man of the match.
April 28 and Town were in Hawkhurst, they secured a hard fought point as they drew 2-2 in a feisty game with two goals from Alfie Weller.  Barnaby Osborne was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence and in the altercation Shane Ridgers was deemed too aggressive by the referee as he did his best to keep rival players apart.
Tommy Buckley was Town’s man of the match and the game sponsors were Tony Hailey Country Services.  So not a great week for Town following the heroic cup win.
