Camber Community Fete was held on a superb day, a sunny July 24. Very well attended by a lot of the villagers, who were not on the beach that day and quite a few visitors as well.

Attractions included the always popular bouncy castle and slide, great fun. A dance performance by youngsters of the Emma Lou Dance Troupe, some were tiny and got all the moves right, well done. Stalls in abundance selling cakes and savouries , drinks and the ice cream van to keep us all cool.

Other stall were gifts, handmade pieces and jewellery and more than I can say.
Also present was the Camber Community Newsletter with a stall selling licenced raffle tickets with the top price of £200.00 cash, followed by , £100 and the 3rd of £50. This is a new initiative by the Newsletter and tickets sold well which is good as the monies raised go towards the running costs of the paper. The newsletter is hand distributed to all residents in Camber, and some of the rentals, too to publicise local business’ and promote village events and the the whole community.

The day was also eventful for a totally different reason as helicopters whizzed above our heads, and siren sounds of ambulances and police cars raced through on Lydd road. It was very unfortunate , however that has been covered separately.
