Rye Cadets are celebrating after attending a packed-out awards ceremony at their local unit. Parents, friends and local dignitaries were in attendance at the Rock Channel headquarters to see the prizes and promotions being awarded. The final presentation of the night was awarded by Deputy Mayor of Rye, councillor Michael Boyd, who presented the cadets with an Efficiency Burgee (flag). This places Rye Sea and Royal Marines Cadets within the top 25% of all of the units within the country.
The Sea cadets offer a wide range of activities and nationally recognised qualifications including the Duke of Edinburgh’s award and Level 1 and 2 Diplomas in public service. Rye Sea Cadets are looking for new members to join their team of cadets and adult volunteers.
