‘Insult to brave men’

I agree with your correspondent who described the burning of the poppies at the Rye bonfire night as not in good taste. I think it was shocking and brought shame on this town. Burning an effigy should be for fun or to poke the Establishment in the eye. It was, in my opinion, an insult to the brave men who died to save this country.
