Dear Sir
So often we read and hear derogatory comments about the NHS and our local hospitals but I felt I had to put pen to paper in the light of my recent experience at the Conquest Hospital in Hastings.
I was taken into the Conquest as an emergency with a serious chest infection which easily could have become pneumonia. Never having been an in-patient at hospital, I didn’t know what to expect and was very anxious. From start to my release some eight days later, I need not have been concerned.
I cannot recall the name of the first ward in which I was initially assessed after passing through A & E, but they then passed me on to the A Section of Macdonald Ward where I spent seven nights. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff of Macdonald, despite being incredibly busy all the time.
The catering was also excellent. I cannot thank them enough for all they did for me over my stay. They deserve better treatment from our government and I hope that this will eventually happen.
Thank you Conquest and particularly Macdonald.
